About the IB Diploma at UCA

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (DP) at UCA is a rigorous, two-year pre-university programme for students in Grades 11 and 12. Recognised by universities in over 90 countries, the IB Diploma develops students who are knowledgeable, principled, open-minded, and skilled at independent thinking and research. UCA is an authorised IB World School, meaning our programme meets the highest IB standards.

6 Subject Groups

Students study one subject from each of 6 groups: Language A, Language B, Social Studies, Sciences, Mathematics, and Arts

Theory of Knowledge

Interdisciplinary course exploring how we know what we know — a cornerstone of IB critical thinking

Extended Essay

4,000-word independent research essay on a topic of the student's choice, supervised by a UCA teacher

CAS Programme

Creativity, Activity, and Service — real-world experiences that develop the whole person

HL & SL Courses

Students take 3 Higher Level and 3 Standard Level subjects matching their strengths and future plans

IB Assessment

Combination of internal assessment and externally marked examinations set by the IB Organisation
